SPIN is a musical myth that portrays the Greek legend of Arachne and Athena in a rock and roll style. Arachne is an aspiring teenage artist; she weaves tapestries that rive that of Athena, he patron god. Like most teenagers, she is stubborn and is questioing her existence as well as her role in the world. Hardened by the cruel world, Arachne struggles to overcome the pain and disappointment of finding herself.Arachne's pride eventually gets to the best of her, despite the advice and guidance of the Muses, Cosmo, Theodore and her father. As punishment Athena places the weight of the world on her shoulders which drives Arachne to commit suicide. Out of remorse Athena eventually gives Arachne another chance by turning her into a spider, where she can weave her art forever, unfettered by the constraints of the modern world. [More] [Less]
